 "Why can’t I access my child’s insurance money?"

 
Every so often I am asked this question. Individuals who have lost their spouse are puzzled why the insurance companies are telling them that they cannot access their child’s inheritance. Instead, they are shocked to learn that the money will be held for their child until they turn 18. “Why?” and “What can I do?” are questions I often receive.
