Manny Pacquiao was not the only one who was victorious on November 13, 2010. Tau Gamma Phi’s “Triskolar” fundraising project also benefited from Pacquiao’s recent conquest of Antonio Margarito. About 600 spectators packed Silverado’s Restaurant at Canad Inns Jefferson to watch the pound-for-pound king punish the Tijuana Tornado and to support the Fraternity’s recent project, which intends to provide some financial assistance to a deserving high school graduate.

Jojo Marcial, President of the Tau Gamma Phi Manitoba Regional Council, announced that it intends to award the financial assistance next year. Before the main event, the crowd was treated to some live entertainment, several auction prizes and a 50/50 draw. Lito Taruc, President of the Philippine Association of Manitoba, Jon Reyes, owner of UPS Kenaston Common and President of the Manitoba Filipino Business Council, and Kevin Chief, NDP MP candidate for Winnipeg North were among the personalities present to support the said event.
