Futurpreneur to empower aspiring young entrepreneurs


Minister of Small Business, Hon. Rechie Valdez, was in Winnipeg on May 16, 2024, and held a dialogue with several small business owners from the Filipino community. Valdez discussed Futurpreneur, a program for aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 18-39 who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents currently living in Canada. She stated that entrepreneurs across the country, especially the next generation of small business owners, now have a better chance to successfully start or buy a business, as the Government of Canada has renewed its investment of $60 million over five years for Futurpreneur.

Futurpreneur is a sustainability pre-acceleration program for impact-driven future entrepreneurs. Participants receive mentorship, education, and skill development while working on their business solutions (
