On Sunday, February 22nd, the Lipeños Basketball League once again provided the fans with sizzling playoff action. Stars like Jonar Huertas, Marvin Topacio, and Sheila Fauni, like before, took centre stage as their respective teams advanced to the finals in their respective divisions.

JUVENILE – #3 Hightops beat defending champs Vickar 60-56 as Chris Nery led his team with 14 pts. Jeff Salamat of Vickar added 18 pts despite
the loss. In the second semi-final, #1 Aldo One defeated Team Snatch 85-75 as Jonar Huertas poured in 34 pts. while Kevin Tipan

LADIES – In the first semi finals match, #2 Martini’s “stole” the game in the final minute to beat the #3 ranked and defending champs
Maples 46-45 to gain a berth in the finals. While in the second semi-finals, #1 Cousin’s easily beat #4 Troopers 68-44. Cassy Ordoñez
had 23 while Sheila Fauni added 18 pts


MIDGET – #1 Jr. Bisons and #2 Perfect Smile advanced to the finals as Mike Finch of Perfect Smile added 18 pts to beat team Mayhem 48-44. In a tight game, Kristjan Lamonts 11 points helped the Jr. Bisons squeak by Vickar 44-43.	MEN’S – #3 Umac’s Jonar Huertas once again proved his value as he single handedly led his team to a victory over #2 Rice Bowl Flight. In his second game of the day, Huertas poured in 39 points of his teams 78 pts. to hold off a late surge by Flight.

MEN’S – In the other Semi-final game, #1 ranked Maples was led by the
“silent but deadly” Marvin Topacio as he added 20 points to help beat
the Ballerz 75-70 despite Prince’s early foul trouble. Maples will be aiming
for a perfect season as it heads to the best of 3 finals.

LADIES – One leg, no problem! See you in the final game!
