Championship Sunday began as the East (red) and West (blue) All Stars duked it out and the players demonstrated why they deserved to be called All Stars. Jimmy Maranan poured in 16 points to lead the West to a 69-63 victory over the East All Stars. The East and West All Star game served as a warm-up to many players as they prepared to play in the consolation and championship game. The consolation game had Tri-M Windows playing Joshua Blackjack. It’s always difficult to play in these games because players always hope to be in the championship game. However, all participants continued to play with pride and sportsmanship. Leo Manillo scored 19 points for Tri M as they defeated Joshua Blackjack 69-57. As a boisterous crowd filled the stands at Tec Voc School, many displaying large banners, were anticipating an intense match between Loralee One and Jojo Villanueva’s Team. The game was quite exciting to watch from the immediate tip off. Loralee One fought off fight late threes as Nick Almonte secured the championship with clutch free throws and rebounds in the dying seconds. Ronald Milan showed why he was named the MVP contributing 23 points for the championship. Final score: 69-65. An awards ceremony followed with trophies for the athletes and many thanks for the sponsors. Jerry Medina and his committee would like to thank the fans and the countless volunteers comprised of family and friends who contributed to the success
