Veteran beauty queen Emma Mary Tiglao of Pampanga has proven that persistence pays off. On Sunday night, August 24, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the 30-year-old dazzled the crowd and judges as she captured the Miss Grand Philippines 2025 crown, besting 28 other candidates in a competition that extended into the early hours of Monday. She also won Best in Swimsuit before receiving the golden crown from outgoing queen CJ Opiaza, the country’s first-ever Miss Grand International winner.
With her victory, Tiglao now sets her sights on the Miss Grand International 2025 pageant, scheduled for October 18 in Bangkok, Thailand. She will attempt to secure a back-to-back win for the Philippines, following Opiaza’s historic triumph last year.
This latest achievement adds to Tiglao’s impressive résumé in pageantry. She is no stranger to the national stage, having been crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019, where she went on to place in the Top 20 at Miss Intercontinental. Years earlier, she was also a finalist in Binibining Pilipinas 2014 and a candidate in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012. Her persistence and dedication over more than a decade in the pageant scene have earned her admiration and respect among Filipino fans.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, Tiglao is known for her artistry and heart for service. A graduate of Holy Angel University, she has worked as a news anchor and is passionate about visual arts, photography, and community work. She also advocates for education and livelihood programs in her home province of Pampanga.
As she prepares for Bangkok, Tiglao carries not only the hope of a second Miss Grand International crown for the Philippines but also a message of resilience, proving that dreams are never out of reach for those who persevere.
