| Black Eyed Peas singer plays benefit concert in Manila |

MANILA – Apl.de.ap (a.k.a Allan Pineda Lindo), a member of the of Grammy Award-winning group the Black Eyed Peas led an all-night hip hop party at Skydome, SM North Edsa on Thursday, October 15.
The Filipino American rapper organized the benefit concert to aid victims of the recent flooding in the Philippines. Tickets were sold for P150 each with proceeds from the concert going to flood stricken communities. Apl said he was concerned when he saw television footage of the devastation and decided to make a brief visit. In addition to the concert with local and international hip hop artists, apl brought canned goods from California, donated cash and made an global appeal for more aid money. “My heart is broken to see so many of my Filipino brothers and sisters hurt by this disaster. We must all bond together and move forward to restore the city we hold dear. I’m asking the global community for their support and donations to assist the thousands of Filipinos affected by this tragedy,” the singer said. After the benefit concert, apl.de.ap flew back to Los Angeles for a Black Eyed Peas concert. He plans to return to the Philippines in November to celebrate his birthday with his fellow kababayans in Pampanga.
