Will Winnipeg’s Mimoza Duot be YTV’s Next Star? WINNIPEG – The tween singing sensation from Winnipeg, Mimoza Duot, is officially one of the top six finalists vying for the top spot on YTV’s The Next Star. Thirteen-year old Mimoza has undoubtedly won the hearts and admiration of many fans all over the country who have been watching her terrific performances and continuous climb to be among the top six finalists. Out of more than 4,000 enthusiastic kids and tweens auditioned from across Canada, six lucky contestants have been selected to begin their pop star transformation in hopes of climbing the charts and becoming The Next Star. YTV’s The Next Star has become one of Canada’s smash-hit singing competitions and reality series for kids 15 years and under. Now in its third season, the show is hosted by Adamo Ruggiero (Degrassi: The Next Generation). These finalists are prepped for stardom with the help of musician Suzie McNeil, songwriter Christopher Ward and Executive Director of MusiCounts Steve Cranwell, who return to make up the series’ panel of experts. After going through The Next Star process, the finalist with the highest number of viewer votes will receive the grand prize and title of The Next Star at the series’ live finale on September 26 at Canada’s Wonderland. According to YTV publicist, Anne Vranic, fans can watch Mimoza in upcoming episodes as she works with a music producer on her single, gets a makeover with celebrity stylist Peter Papapetrou, performs in front of a studio audience and films a music video. Fans can vote for Mimoza on line at nextstar.ytv.com right up to the live finale on September 26. The Next Star airs every Monday evening on YTV.
