Erich Gonzales is going all-fresh in an all-white soaked kamison (camisole) in her first lead role on ABS-CBN’s remake of Katorse. This was the Regal movie back in the 1980’s about a young girl’s sexual awakening. It starred Dina Bonnevie with Gabby Concepcion and Alfie Anido, and was directed by Joey Gosiengfiao.

The story evolves around Nene, who faced life’s difficulties and challenges early on in her life. The hardship starts when she’s 14 yrs old; still a child, innocent and carefree. She falls in love and gives it all. Consequently, she gives birth to a child.

This is a big break for Erich who hails from Davao. Many of her fans and handlers believe that she deserves it; after all, she was the Grand Questor of Star Circle Quest back 2005. She has only done some teeny “tweetums” roles since then. The role in this new series may be her springboard to stardom. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus winner Ejay Falcon and model-athlete Xian Lim will join her in this series.

ABS-CBN is launching this TV series as Your Song Presents: Katorse on June 8, 2009. Erich may be 19 right now and may have not experienced the same fate as Nene, but she sure has the looks and the artistry to put credibility in the role.
