Post-resumé waiting game

Being in the field of HR, people often seek my advice about job search, opportunities and writing resumés. I also often hear comments from folks indicating that no matter how many resumés they send out to employers and no matter how much work they put into writing a great resumé, they find themselves waiting for days, or even weeks only to find out they didn’t make it to the interview stage. Being pro-active is very important in order to land the right job. Applying for a job is only half the battle. It may take weeks and weeks to write a perfect resumé, and once it’s in the hands of the employer, it is time for the waiting game.
