Miss Arizona Maureen Montagne – May dugong Pinoy

Naging kontrobersyal ang katatapos pa lamang na Miss USA Beauty Pageant na ginanap sa Baton Rouge, Louisiana noong July 12, 2015. Akala ng marami ay hindi na matutuloy ang event dahil sa binitiwang salita ng pageant co-owner na si U.S. presidentiable Donald Trump tungkol sa issue ng immigrants. Tinawag kasi nitong mga rapists at drug dealers ang mga illegal na Mexicano sa U.S. sa kaniyang campaign speech kamakailan.

Dahil dito ay nag-pull out ang NBC Network na magpapalabas sana ng beauty event na ito. Pati mga advertisers, ang hosts na sina Thomas Robert, Cheryl Burke at Jeanie Mei. Pati mga performers at judges ay isa-isa ring umatras bago maganap ang pageant.

Subalit kahit na mainit ang issue ay itinuloy pa rin ng pamunuan ang naturang patimpalak kagandahan at isa nga sa naging contestants nito ay may dugong Pinoy.

Si Miss Arizona Maureen Montagne ay Filipina ang ina at French naman ang ama. Sa kaniyang video clip ay sinabi ng dalaga na proud siya bilang Filipino.

Mahilig ang kaniyang pamilya sa mga pagkaing Pinoy at ilan sa kaniyang favourite foods ay ang adobo, lechon at pancit.

Kabilang si Maureen sa Top 15 subalit hindi pinalad sa top ten. Maraming kalahok ang may ibat ibang ethnic background kaya na-focus sa mga kandidatang immigrant ang mga magulang. Marahil ay ginawa ng organization ang ganitong paraan para ipakita na hindi sila sang-ayon sa nasabi ni Trump about immigrants.

Wala sa naturang event si Trump dahil may kampanya ito nang araw na iyon. Nagbigay naman siya ng mensahe para sa kung sino man ang mananalo sa naturang patimpalak kagandahan.

Si Olivia Jordan, si Miss Oklahoma, ang tinanghal na bagong Miss USA at magiging representative ng U.S. sa Miss Universe Pageant ngayong taon.

My Faithful Husband reunites Jennylyn and Dennis

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo return to primetime TV and reunite in GMA Network’s upcoming series My Faithful Husband.

Both Jennylyn and Dennis are excited to work together again and assure their fans and viewers that they will love the intriguing and interesting story of My Faithful Husband.

Sana magustuhan niyo kasi maganda yung istorya nito. Kakaiba siya sa mga dati naming ginawa kaya interesting. Excited akong maka-trabaho siya [Dennis] kasi matagal din kaming hindi nagkasama. Titingnan ko kung paano ang magiging atake namin sa bawat eksena pero I think, comfortable na naman kami sa isa’t isa,” says Jennylyn.

Dennis, on the other hand, shares, “Maganda tong show na gagawin namin. Maganda yung kuwento niya, magaling yung mga kasama naming artista, at magaling yung director. At saka pinaghandaan talaga namin ng husto para buuin tong show naming.”

Emman (Dennis) is a devoted and doting husband to Mel and father to their children. He is willing to do anything for his family. Meanwhile, Mel (Jennylyn) is a kind, loving, hardworking and ambitious woman. She is married to Emman but after seeing her former boyfriend again, she suddenly gets confused about her feelings.

My Faithful Husband also stars Mikael Daez, Louise delos Reyes, Kevin Santos, Jade Lopez, Gerald Napoles, Aaron Yanga, Rexy Evert, Timmy Cruz, Snooky Serna, Noni Buencamino and Rio Locsin.

Under the helm of Bb. Joyce Bernal, with the help of creative director Roy Iglesias, creative consultant RJ Nuevas, and head writer Suzette Doctolero, My Faithful Husband is set to premiere this August on GMA Pinoy TV.

Iza Calzado at Daniel Matsunaga – Bibida sa teleserye

Muling pumirma ng kontrata ang aktres na si Iza Calzado sa ABS-CBN kasama ang Brazilian-Japanese model at actor na si Daniel Matsunaga.

“Sobrang saya ko, at ipinagmamalaki kong Kapamilya pa rin ako,” ani Iza nang pumirma siya ng dalawang-taong kontrata sa ABS-CBN. Masayang kinumpirma ni Iza na magkakaroon siya ng teleserye sa susunod na taon. Sa ngayon, nakatuon muna ang atensyon niya sa pelikulang Etiquette for Mistresses sa ilalim ng Star Cinema.

Samantala, pumirma rin ng kontrata ang Pinoy Big Brother All In big winner na si Daniel Matsunaga na nakatakdang gawin ang seryeng Be My Lady kasama ang nobyang si Erich Gonzales. “Una sa lahat, nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos. Sa lahat ng mga dumarating na biyaya, at sa mga opportunities,” ani Daniel.

Dumalo sa contract signing sina ABS-CBN TV Production head Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN Free TV head Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, at chief finance officer Aldrin Cerrado.

Alamat – New folktale series on GMA Pinoy TV

The group behind the groundbreaking socio-political and historical TV series Bayan Ko, Katipunan, Ilustrado, Titser, and Sa Puso Ni Dok – is coming up with a new weekly series that hopes to revive Filipinos’ interest in folk tales.

Entitled Alamat, the series features six episodes of 2D and 3D animated renditions of Philippine legends namely, Alamat ng Bayabas, Juan Tamad, Langgam at Tipaklong, Mariang Sinukuan, Mahiwagang Singsing, and Ang Unang Bahaghari. It will air worldwide on GMA Pinoy TV beginning July 19.

Six teams of writers, directors, producers, actor-dubbers and professional animators, some of whom had prior experience in giant animation studios abroad, worked on the project.

According to Jaileen Jimeno, program manager, the primary goal of the series is to encourage the audience, especially young viewers, to appreciate the once well-loved but now almost forgotten tales of lore which were used by elders to impart good values and traditions to the youth of their time.

Each episode features the voices of various Kapuso stars and personalities who give life to the characters. The first episode, Alamat ng Bayabas, will showcase the voices of veteran actor Pen Medina and GMA Artist Center talent Harvey Almoneda.

Characters for the next five episodes are voiced by Gabby Eigenmann, Glaiza de Castro, Mike Tan, Kylie Padilla, Louise de los Reyes, Bea Binene, Jeric Gonzales, Betong Sumaya, Love Añover, Maey Bautista, Pekto, John Feir, Tonipet Gaba, and Roi Vinzon.

Alamat’s premiere episode airs on July 19 on GMA Pinoy TV.
