Opinions

If you told us at the start of the year that a group chat made for playing Catan would one day turn into a halo-halo business, we would’ve probably laughed. But that’s exactly what happened.
Halo? Halo! began with a group of friends casually tossing around business ideas. Funny enough, the very first idea we talked about was starting a fried chicken business. But after looking around local food festivals and markets, we realized something was missing. We rarely came across halo-halo. It’s a dessert that so many Filipinos grew up loving, yet it wasn’t something we often saw being shared at community events.
From there, our kitchens became a place of trial and error. We spent countless hours experimenting with recipes, fine-tuning flavours, and asking our family and friends to be our unofficial taste testers until we created drinks and halo-halo that truly felt like us.
Although Halo? Halo! began as a simple idea between friends, it wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of our family, friends, and everyone who’s stopped by our booth.
Whether it was helping us prepare for events, lending a hand during busy weekends, or simply believing in us from day one, they’ve been a huge part of our story.
Seeing people enjoy something we’ve poured so much heart into has been the best part of this journey, and we’re excited to keep going. We hope you’ll visit us at STREAT Feast at The Forks from August 13-16!
